Mentoring with Conviction

50% of employers would not consider hiring someone with a criminal record.

This must change - not least because employment can drive down re-offending.

That’s why we developed a mutual mentoring programme in partnership with Trailblazer Mentoring, StandOut and Breakthrough where people with convictions mentored influential HR decision-makers at Deloitte and vice-versa.


Mentors with convictions shared insights into the barriers to employment for those with criminal records and shone a rightful light on the skills and humanity behind their convictions.


Employers’ hearts and minds were changed - and we're optimistic that changes in recruitment practices will follow.
